Hello Mr. Barklee...

Yes, that is what was on my Human's answering machine today. A real person actually picked up the phone and left a message looking for ME! Looks like I'm getting fans! Later I find out that they just used my name to sign up for a real estate website, and now the realtors are starting to do their cold calls. Maybe they'll issue me a credit card next!

So a bit of a recap - I visited the lovely Northern California and stayed at a nice family's house. And GET THIS... they actually have what's called a "BACKYARD" that's all to themselves. NO DOGGY DOO! Think... Dog Park... but ALL TO YOURSELF. I'm salivating just thinking about it. So I had a little weekend of luxury, borrowing their Backyard and running my legs off every day.

I had a heck of a car ride to get there though. I rode in 2 cars even! Here's me in the back of one...

My humans need to work harder so they can afford me my own Backyard. It's not asking for much, is it?

New Favorite Place: DOG PARK

My owners finally decided I was ready to be unleashed at a nearby Dog Park... and boy was it FUN.

It was like a human shopping spree, with aisles of PEOPLE to scoop up and jump all over. Yeah, a few dogs too. Actually there was a Frenchie that I started racing with as soon as I got there... but he couldn't keep up with my long legs! HA!

So here's a few snapshots... BEFORE I got to the park:

Now here's a shot of me DURING:

And here's a final shot of me AFTER:

I'm glad pictures tell a thousand words, because it's tough to type with puppy paws. Have a nice Easter!

It's my name's fault...

So, I'm not sure if I mentioned this, but I don't really bark. My owners think I can't bark... i have only made a sound that sounded like a bark... after they accidentally (or so they say) stepped on my foot as I was shadowing them.

But yesterday during my walk... i just couldn't take it anymore. Those big dogs behind big fences think they're SOOOO big and bad... and they bark and snarl and rub their snouts under the fences. Who do THEY think they are? So that was the last straw... I started barking (granted it sounded more like "yap yap yap")back and lunging towards the big fence to show the big dog I was not afraid. It sort of made the big dog even more mad, but I didn't care... I was ready to take it on.
Anyway... I think i shocked my owners...
Oh, I forgot to show you one of the new friends i met last weekend... His name is Ken. He's definitely making me look short in this picture...

Niki also visited me after her trip to Africa... There's now a little carved turtle living in our house now that came from her trip. I'm thinking it might be a tasty chew! :)

Last but not least, my scratching has subsided! My vet said that it's only because i haven't gotten my new flea treatment... and that southern california is a big fleafest for dogs... So every month i need new flea treatment... and so far it's working! No new itchy spots and my old itchy spots are almost totally healed.

Thanks Doc!

Barklee: The Movie (finally!!)

Some of you may have seen in one of my first posts... the video of my first day in my new home. Quite depressing for me, because I had a runny nose and had to wear a cone on my head to let my surgery stitches heal...

But now with this new movie... I can finally reveal the REAL me. Brad Pitt, watch out.

Walk like a man... Walk like a man...

Okay, so the title of this post is a bit misleading. It's more like "stand" like a man, but there hasn't been a song made famous by that phrase yet.

But I thought I'd show off my talents of balancing (even for only a few seconds) on my hind legs. Its a talent that can come in handy someday.

I've been itchin' my stomach and it's starting to scab up and gross my humans out, so they're taking me to the Vet on Saturday. Hopefully i'm not allergic to my Toys. And it better not be from all the stomach crawling I do in the grass when i'm trying to get some good stretching done. I did chomp on a bee that was flying at my face... think I got an allergic reaction to that?

My impression of Wallace & Gromit

Went to a new park today, called Balboa Park. We had to drive around a bit because there was no parking... apparently there was an event for Persian New Year? That's what one lady who walked by said. So we didn't hang out for too long because it just got too crowded! Meanwhile... I got caught doing my Wallace and Gromit impressions... Think i could make it into their next movie?

Another helpless toy got into my possession this week. Look how scared it looks.

It' so fun to swing my new toys around... my lips can't keep up...
