Point Mugu and Barklee too
So as of last weekend, I have officially gone camping two times, which must mean i'm a pro at this. I have also had ample time to determine what my general consensus on camping is.It sucks!
First, i think i'm allergic because I have sneezing fits often. That, or maybe it's those prickly little dry weeds flying up my nose when i'm trying to sniff the ground for leftover food.
Second, I can't get all snuggly in my bean bag bed at home, and Ants are having a party all over my doggie toys!Third, what's up with nature's A/C? One minute it's crazy hot, the next shivering cold!
Fourth... the humans spend most of their time bbqing food. LOTS of it. Chicken, Beef, Pork ribs... and guess what i am allowed to eat? NONE of it. oh wait, they gave me chicken... BECAUSE IT FELL ON THE DIRT.
Fifth... did i mention how dirty it is out here?
Anyway... I guess there are probably worse things... and I did get some nice sun at the beach.

Dukelee & Bark
Have you ever had a friend that you liked, but sometimes couldn't get along with because they liked the same toys you did, or was just plain bigger than you?

Well, that's how it is with my buddy Duke. He's probably 3 times my size, but he's a nice guy, and he doesn't seem to want to eat me for breakfast, like the other dogs his size. I was over at his house this weekend and had a great time finding all the rotting oranges from his yard and piling them underneath the patio table. I had so much fun, I almost forgot my 'curious' bark obsession. (Note that i said "almost". I did have a little episode of my 'screaming monkey barks' but i eventually chilled out.)

I'm actually older than Duke by about 2 years! Duke was born in Las Vegas, and he's half Lab & half pitbull. He's got a pretty mean sounding bark, but he wouldn't hurt a fly... (unless he accidentally stepped on one or something.) During my 'episode' - he was so distraught he climbed up on a patio chair and sat out of my reach until i calmed down.

Since 80% of the day was spent with me getting Duke to chase me as I stole his toys, I was pretty tired by the end of the day. I'll definitely be visiting the Duke-ster again!

Weekend Warrior
I am pooped. There are some weekends where i can lounge on my pet bed and stretch out in peace and then there are weekends like this one where i'm ALL over the place.
It started with my first trip to a place called San Luis Obispo, where a nice tall guy I never met before graduated with a Masters in Engineering. He had a whole flower garden around his neck and was he popular! We were hanging out with all these other people - and i've never seen so many people all at once. I am usually running towards every new person i see, but this time i was just trying not to get stepped on!
The next day started pretty normal. My human was sweeping and vacuuming away my furball clumps from the floor and I was busy trying to get someone to play fetch with me.
Then i'm suddenly sitting in the car again and find myself in a brand new park with a bunch of other little dogs running around waiting to greet me. Living up to my name, I barked at them like there was no tomorrow... so I eventually had to sit in "Time Out" tied to a tree, while everyone else hung out around the picnic tables eating pizza and being social. (overrated, i say.)

Although my throat is a little hoarse now, I had a pretty exciting weekend... and I will be sleeping pretty good tonight. :)

Treats from SEATTLE!

Mr. Howard is the nice guy that lives behind the door next to our door. Every now and then I bump into him on our way to or from a walk.
Well, he recently went away to a place called Seattle... and when he came back - he brought ME some yummy Doggie WILD SALMON Treats! BOY WERE THEY GOOD... I think my eyes started to spin like the doggie cartoon on the box...
Hope he understands "THANKS" in tail wag language...
